If you are a memory person like me, you have things that bring you back to a different time or event. Things you can't control like a smell or a song. Being a musical person, songs have always been a major part of my life which is why hearing certain songs stop me dead in my tracks. They stop time. Some songs bring me to a good place/memory but most songs bring me to bad or painful places.
I have been pretty much alone this entire weekend. I worked alone in my office all day yesterday and today I was home alone doing laundry and cleaning. Being alone lets the mind wander. It makes you think about things you wouldn't think about if you were engaged in conversation with someone. Today all I could think about was the hurt that I felt 5 years ago. Before my husband and I were married, before we were engaged, before we were together, before. The song below is one of the songs that brings me back to that time. It stops my breathing. It stops my mind. It stops me. Instantly I am the 19 year old girl that hurts.
And as the song suggests, I feel better now.

All I need is a bitter song to make me better. Much better. All I need to write is a bitter song to make me better. Much better.
Mmmm Mmmm MmmMmmmm mmmm mmmm
It found me to hold me, but I don't like it at all.Won't feed it, won't grow it, it's folded in my stomach. It's not fair, I found love.It made me say that.Get Back you'll never see daylight, If I'm not strong, it just might.
All I need is a bitter song, to make me better. Much better. All I need to write is a bitter song to make me better.I feel better, I feel better. - Butterfly Boucher
